Dr. Richard A. Schere is an experienced psychologist acknowledged for his expertise in multiple areas. He has been awarded diplomate status in five separate psychological specialties and in 2013 received the Distinguished Contributions to Psychology Award from the San Diego Psychological Association. Over the years, Dr. Schere has written many articles and chapters for journals and texts. At present, in addition to his private practice, he teaches graduate student clinical psychology courses at National University. Previously he taught doctoral students at Alliant International University (CSPP). He was designated Professor Emeritus by the City University of New York in 1991. In addition to his work in psychology, Dr. Schere has been an avid contributor to the creative arts, especially in the areas of poetry and modern folk music. Although Dr. Schere is known for his work with a wide and varied client population, he connects especially well with adolescents and young adults and deeply enjoys assisting them.
